​I have always been a cheese lover from Havarti, to Gouda, Smoked Applewood Cheddar, and

Muenster I could never say no to a great piece of cheese.  Wine on the other hand I was not a

​

big fan of, until I was stationed in Ft. Hunter Liggett, California.  It was there that I attended a

​

wine tasting at a winery just 40 minutes from the Army base and my initial protests were quickly

​

silenced when I was offered a slice of Havarti cheese with the most delicious port wine I ever

​

tasted.  I was hooked the wine paired with the cheese completely elevated the taste of both the

​

cheese as well as the wine.  Having two boys I am a huge fan of Disney movies, and the

​

closest comparison for the way that I felt at that moment in time, is related to the movie

​

"Ratatouille, where a small mouse compares flavors to colors and fireworks!  I fell in love and

​

became an advocate to have further wine tasting and wine tours as Morale and Welfare

​

builders for the Soldiers.  Naturally when I began to think of stepping away from being a full

​

time Soldier I thought I would love nothing more than to share my wonderful experience with

​

getting to learn and experience and discover wine with others.
